A Five Mics Message of Appreciation + What's In Store for 2025?

With the end of 2024 just several days away, I want to take this moment to share my appreciation with you as I reflect on all we accomplished together this year.

This is the year that Five Mics made our quick pivot into “physical”! “Physical release” was always on the roadmap, but we didn’t imagine it would happen so soon - especially because we spent the last 18 months focused on our digital client.

BIG thanks to everyone that played Five Mics with us at Dream Con 2024 in Austin. We brought physical demo cards, and for the entire event, we had people playing for hours and demanding we made Five Mics available for physical purchase asap. The feedback was so strong and desire SO high for the physical cards that we decided to print a small inventory to see if the hype was really real. I’m so glad we did.

In October, we sold out of our inventory in less than a month. We actually received more demand than the amount of inventory we had available! We hosted a few Five Mics game demos at local game stores in Los Angeles as well as at UCLA and USC. And we have several more plans lining up for the new year around playing the physical cards.

We have a much bigger shipment of our physical starter decks being produced and shipped as we speak. So if you’re still waiting for your order to be fulfilled, or if you’ve been waiting for us to replenish before making your order, we got you!

As for our digital client - to spare you the nerdcore - we found a huge infrastructural bug in our game project over the summer that caused us to scrap everything we had been working on for the last 18+ months. While our foundation is now much cleaner and more promising, it did push back development to say the least. We’ve since restructured the team to meet the new demands and are just as zealous to bring a functional cross-platform digital demo to life for you. The timeline however is much more TBD, understandably.

(A quick reminder that we’re a very small, bootstrapped team building something new out of nothing. Yes we’re ambitious and very much on fire, but also WHEW are there ups and downs! Super grateful for all the patience and grace you’ve shown us on this journey throughout - it means a lot. 💜)

All the more reason that if you want to experience Five Mics asap, don’t wait until we have the digital version ready. The physical game is HERE!
