Call Me Ace thought of the idea of making a hip-hop card game, which he called “Five Mics.”
June 2018
Ace began printing paper and prototyping diff card ideas and mechanics.
Dec 2021
Ace fully commits to bringing Five Mics to life after receiving lots of positive feedback to the idea.
Jan 2023
Five Mics Studios Inc. officially incorporated. Five Mics was selected as 1 of 10 startups to join the Techstars Music accelerator program.
Jun 2023
Los Angeles becomes the new Five Mics HQ location!

We released our mobile-first prototype for a private play-testing.
Feb 2024
Ace (on behalf of Five Mics Studios) was selected as a finalist for the 2024 US Black Tech Achievement Gaming Award.
Aug 2024
We decide to produce and release physical versions of our cards after positive feedback from Dream Con 2024.
